She’s A Brick…House: Two Years Blogging

It is a special day here at brickhousechick.com

Two years ago today,  I started lettin’ it all hang out on my blog.

[[[Shake it down shake it down shake it down now]]]

As I reflect on these past two years, I realize that

I’ve worked my ass off to be mighty-mighty

and to not hold nothing back (well, except for my identity – oops)

I’ve looked at myself in the mirror (over and over again) and thought:

I know I’ve got everything
a woman needs to get a man, (
yeah…)
How can I lose with what I use
36-24-36 (
precisely), what a winning hand!

[[[Shake it down shake it down shake it down now]]]

After all,

The clothes I wear ( muu-muu dresses), the sexy ways,
make an old man wish for younger days (or no days)
I know I’m built (got huge arm wings), and know how to please
Sure enough to knock a man to his knees (with said wings)

The fact is that,

I’m the one, the only one,
who’s built like an amazon (
or three)

All kidding aside,

I think all of you are the true Brick Houses for putting up with my silliness and tall tales for two whole years.  I would not be so mighty-mighty if not for your friendship, support & loyalty.

I dedicate this special blogiversary to all of you.

Muchas Gracias!

  2. Azuuuuuuuuuuucaaaarrrrrrr! Felicidades! So happy that you hit the two year mark and so glad I ran into you. This whole blogging experience has been a blessing I get so much support from people who I haven’t even met. I feel like it’s an eHarmony writer’s support group. And I’m definitely glad we met. Can’t wait to hear your wisdom for me when I hit 4-0. You started this on your journey to 50 and made it with flying colors. You’re amazing and I’m so glad to be able to get a peek into your life through these stories. I will toast to you tonight! Salud!

    1. Muchisimas gracias, Guat!!! Exactly, what you said. Right back atcha! It has been fun meeting great people like you who keep me laughing, crying and inspired. And chocolate. You are doing such wonderful things on your journey to 40, you most certainly have a space reserved for you in Heaven! Besides the sagging boobs and many more side effects of aging, it’s not that bad. You’re a baby still! xo

    1. Thanks, Renee. You were one of my early followers and always kept me going and inspired with your funny posts. I enjoyed sending the camp letter to your son and almost winning the frizzy hair contest. I am glad you are in a better place and that you are healing. xoxo

  3. Maria… if I had a time machine, would you go back 8-9 years or so and tell my younger self he needs to give up the funk? He needs a “es la hora para fiesta” pep talk! He was moping WAY past the 1st and 2nd year marks.

    No?

Ah well. Perhaps I shall have to think of a sequel to Gloria Gayner’s tune. It would be called “I Have Survived”, and it will be EXTRA funky! Now, time to get down like James Brown, and git on with our bad selves! Woo!

        1. You’re not missing much. Jonny Jakobsen and his characters are just weird (but fun) Euro bubblegum pop. If you are familiar with Aqua and their “Barbie Girl” tune, it’s like that.
